A Satellite Event of the UNESCO Ocean Decade Conference
As part of the UNESCO Ocean Decade Conference, the ProBleu, SHORE, BlueLightS Consortia Coalition, and EMSEA are spearheading a landmark event to embed ocean literacy within the European school curriculum by 2025. This initiative represents a significant stride towards meeting the objectives of the Ocean Decade, unifying educational institutions across Europe in a shared mission.
The event “The European Blue Schools: Aiming for UNESCO’s Ambitious Ocean Literacy Goals in School Curricula” is scheduled for April 8th, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, at the Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM-CSIC) auditorium and will also be available online. Admission is free, and while registration for the Ocean Decade event is not required, attendees must register to attend this event.
Ocean literacy is essential for fostering a generation that understands and appreciates the intricate relationship between humanity and the ocean and commits to its protection.
