The #MakeEUBlue Awards 2025 have officially launched, celebrating outstanding initiatives that promote ocean literacy and sustainability across Europe. Organized by the EU4Ocean Coalition, these awards honour individuals, schools, organizations, and projects that are making a tangible impact in protecting our oceans and waterways.
Who Can Apply?
The awards are open to a variety of participants actively engaged in ocean literacy:
✔️ Schools & Educators fostering awareness through innovative learning approaches.
✔️ Young Ocean Advocates driving change with impactful actions.
✔️ Organizations & Initiatives promoting sustainable marine practices and education.
Only projects completed in 2024 or ongoing projects and initiatives for which results are already visible are able to compete!
Categories
The winners will receive their prizes at a dedicated award ceremony (organised at the European Maritime Day of the given year – see annex I) and their prizes include:
- An official award certificate;
- A hand-made ocean themed trophy;
- A financial reward, up to 2500€
How to Participate?
Applications are now open and will remain so until March 14, 2025. The winners will be announced at the European Maritime Day 2025, offering an incredible platform to showcase their achievements. If your school, organization, or initiative is working towards a bluer, more sustainable future, this is your opportunity to gain recognition and inspire others! ✨
