Are you developing sea‑ or water‑related projects and wondering how your educational centre can become a European Blue School? A Blue School brings the ocean (and water) into the classroom and the curriculum; through project‑based learning it involves students in marine and freshwater issues, building awareness and responsibility for our ocean, rivers and water bodies.

On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 14:30 (WEST, Canary Islands time), we will host a free, interactive online workshop aimed at Gran Canaria’s schools. The session is organised under the PHAROS Horizon‑Europe project, which promotes nature‑based solutions to restore ecosystems and tackle climate change and human pressures in Atlantic and Arctic maritime regions, and in collaboration with ProBleu, the EU initiative boosting Blue Schools across Europe. The Department of Education & Youth of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria supports the training.

Why join?

  • Learn the step‑by‑step process to achieve the European Blue School label
  • Discover inspiring “Find the Blue” project ideas to replicate with your students
  • See how PHAROS and ProBleu can provide resources, partners and potential funding
  • Network with fellow Gran Canaria educators committed to ocean and water literacy
