During the “25ème rencontres Enseignants-Chercheurs” event in Marseille, the ProBleu project took part in a workshop for educators, emphasizing the role of the Network of European Blue Schools in advancing ocean literacy across Europe. The event was hosted by the Institut Méditerranéen d’Océanologie in Marseille Aix-Marseille Université (MIO-AMU), in collaboration with the Rectorat it was possible thanks to the MINKE project support.
ProBleu introduced its educational resource catalogue and explained how teachers could join the Network of European Blue Schools to connect with a global community committed to marine sustainability. The session highlighted how citizen science can be a powerful tool to bring ocean observation into the classroom.

As part of the workshop, a hands-on session on MINKE Virtual Access Platform, MINKA, demonstrated how educators can use this observatory to create biodiversity monitoring projects with their students. This aligns with the open schooling approach, encouraging active participation and citizen science in education.
The event also featured presentations on ocean observation and oxygen circulation in the Mediterranean, underscoring the importance of bridging scientific research with education. Through initiatives like this, ProBleu strengthens its commitment to ocean literacy and encourages schools to take an active role in restoring our oceans and waters.
