Barcelona/Plymouth, 2nd December 2024 – ProBleu, an initiative funded by the European Commission and UKRI, is proud to announce the launch of its ProBleu Resource Catalogue of water literacy teaching aids, a dynamic online resource designed to promote water literacy and ocean education in primary and secondary schools across Europe and associated countries. This new catalogue supports educators in bringing marine and freshwater topics into classrooms, inspiring students to become active stewards of our oceans and freshwater ecosystems.

The catalogue offers diverse educational resources for engaging theoretical and practical teaching and project-based learning strategies. The catalogue includes materials on such topics as ocean chemistry, freshwater resources, and citizen science tools, among many others. Moreover, educators are encouraged to reuse and improve these materials and share their own content in the catalogue,  fostering collaboration among educators worldwide.

ProBleu Resource Catalogue is accessible in multiple languages, ensuring it meets the needs of diverse educational systems across Europe and beyond. Additionally, the catalogue features educational materials created by teachers who led Blue Projects funded by ProBleu’s grant calls, fostering a collaborative tool for educators worldwide.

This catalogue supports our wider aim for schools to join the European Blue Schools Network, a community of educators and students dedicated to sustainable practices and marine and freshwater protection. The ProBleu initiative aligns closely with the EU Mission: Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030, engaging school communities in impactful educational activities that nurture a culture of responsibility for protecting our ocean and freshwater resources.

Now live, the catalogue is ready to explore, customise, and contribute to. ProBleu invites educators worldwide to join the community, sharing knowledge and environmental awareness.
