The Global Blue Schools Network, coordinated by UNESCO IOC, held its monthly meeting, bringing together coordinators from Blue Schools worldwide to exchange updates, present global initiatives, and introduce new educational resources.

Representing ProBleu and the Spanish Blue Schools Network, Elisabet Bonfill, ProBleu Technical Coordinator, presented the Spanish network, highlighting its progress and opportunities for collaboration.

One of the key moments of the meeting was the presentation of the ProBleu Resource Catalogue, led by Gennadi Lessin, from Plymouth Marine Laboratory and leader of WP3: Accessible Teaching Support for Ocean and Water Learning. Lessin explained the catalogue’s purpose, how schools can upload information, and how they can use it to access and share educational materials on ocean and water literacy.

In addition to the ProBleu presentation, the meeting also featured a new initiative from Funders Portugal focused on marine protected areas and other contributions from Blue Schools worldwide, showcasing innovative approaches to ocean and water education.

These meetings provide an important space for knowledge exchange and collaboration, strengthening the ProBleu Blue Schools Network and supporting schools in delivering high-quality ocean literacy education.
