This project aims to improve students’ understanding of water’s vital role in sustaining life by studying seaports and port cities, their activities, and their ecological impact. The project emphasizes personal commitment to protecting oceans and marine ecosystems, raising awareness of sustainable development responsibilities.
Key Objectives:
- Improve understanding of the shipping sector’s impact on the sea and port cities.
- Raise awareness about the responsibility of protecting aquatic ecosystems.
- Encourage students to promote local changes for a sustainable marine environment actively.
Planned Activities:
- Educational Visits: Visit museums and marine water analysis laboratories to learn about marine life and water quality.
- Waste Study: Analyzing common marine waste, its origins, and its ecosystem impact.
- Debates: On reducing marine waste, especially plastics and microplastics.
- Pollution Research: Investigating pollution sources and possible corrective measures.
- Technological Studies: Exploring technologies for pollution reduction and their environmental impact.
- Community Campaigns: Creating awareness videos, web pages, and social media channels to promote marine conservation.
- Collaborative Studies: Partnering with European schools for comparative studies and ecological impact assessments.
Project Phases:
